Student
Welfare Structure
The college has a team approach to student welfare and discipline. The team is led by the Assistant Principal and consists of the Sub-school and Year Level Co-ordinators, Careers Teacher, the College Guidance Officer and interested staff. The team liaises with the wider group of Home Room and Tutor Group Teachers who also play a vital role in the care and welfare of individual students. The Student management and coordinators Team meets once a fortnight as does the Student welfare team to discuss welfare issues and strategies to care for the needs of individual students. Data revelas that the Collee is perceived as a calm supportive environment by teachers, students and parents. There is a strong emphasis on relationships.
The structure is summarised in the following diagram:

Whole School Approach To Welfare And Discipline (WSAD)
Introduction
The College operates a Whole School Approach to Welfare and Discipline. This "Whole School Approach" means that students experience a very consistent approach to welfare and discipline in all classes, and teachers have clear processes to follow. The approach has significantly reduced the disruption to learning. The essential features are summarised as follows:
-
At the beginning of each year all teachers establish classroom discipline plans and colleague support plans and submit them to the Principal
-
Plans include classroom rules, rewards for good behaviour and consequences of inappropriate behaviour.
-
A summary of the school rules, consequences and the "Whole School Approach to Discipline" is contained in the student diary each year. This is published in a document called "Pipeworks". Students and parents are asked to acknowledge their agreement by signing and returning a form in the diary.
-
Assertive discipline training programs are offered for staff and parents
